Breathe Ann Arbor

Breathe Ann Arbor is a partnership of Julie Wolcott and Marcia Bailey dedicated to sharing the Transformational Breath® process with interested others. In this context we offer in the Ann Arbor and Midland areas of Michigan as well as in St. Augustine, Florida and environs, a range of introductory and advanced Transformational Breath experiences.

We bring to this Transformational Breath (TB) work/play a deep trust in the ongoing healing power of the Transformational Breath. We have each done and continue to do our own deep inner healing through the transforming power of TB. And likewise we have each witnessed many, many others receive great benefits through the use of TB in their lives. Based on our experiences we each strongly believe that TB is one of the premier healing modalities on the Planet today.

Marcia Bailey

Marcia Bailey of Breathe Ann Arbor Marcia Bailey, M.A., Ph.D, is dedicated to supporting expanding aliveness in self, interested others, and ultimately, all humans on the Planet, and she delivers to her work as a breathing facilitator a deep passion for the healing power of the Transformational Breath. She has enjoyed 28 years of using and sharing the connected breath for Personal and Spiritual transformation, and she is especially enamored of Judith Kravitz' many brilliant additions to the inherently powerful and healing connected breathing process. Marcia has studied directly with Judith Kravitz since 2001, and she is a certified Transformational Breath facilitator as well as a Senior Trainer for the Transformational Breath Foundation (TBF).

Trained initially as a scientist (Ph.D, Physical Chemistry, 1965), Marcia loves the metaphysical implications and matrix of the Transformational Breath process. In addition, her many years as a University chemistry professor (1965 - 1996) as well as her mid-career training in Counseling (MA 1978) have given her added skills in listening deeply with clients in private sessions. She has also studied yoga more recently, and is a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher (1999) as well as a Certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioner (1999). In addition Marcia has in-depth training in Gestalt Therapy (GIC, Cleveland, 1977-78) and Metaphysical Truth Principles (Science of Mind and Unity since 1975). Marcia's primary intention in sharing this Transformational Breathwork with interested others is to encourage, empower and support each client in moving easily toward integrating Transformational Breath self-sessions into her/his life on a daily and weekly basis.

Julie Wolcott

Julie Wolcott of Breathe Ann Arbor Julie Wolcott, M.A., CSW, LPC, has practiced in the fields of counseling and psychotherapy for over 40 years. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Social Worker, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner and Kripalu Yoga Teacher. Julie also has in-depth training in Vipassana Meditation and Thai Massage. Julie is a Certified Transformational Breath Facilitator and a Senior Trainer with the Transformational Breath Foundation.

Blessed with a highly sensitive and intuitive nature, Julie brings an open heart and committed presence to all those who come to her for healing. She is dedicated to the principle of self-empowerment and self-healing inherent in the soul of each individual. And the power for transformation, she believes passionately, is available through learning the simple process of connected, circular breathing.

Through her own inner journey of physical, emotional and spiritual healing, Julie has developed a keen awareness and understanding of the emotional and life challenges of others and is able to bring a sense of compassionate wisdom, love and strength to her work with all. She believes that as we are able to help ourselves and others heal, the potential for healing the Planet may be realized.

Dedication and Acknowledgements

Marcia dedicates her contributions to the beginnings of this Breathe Ann Arbor website and related Transformational Breath work/play to the loving memory of her beloved friend and mentor, Dr. Barbara Schwartz, 1May1931 – 25May2007, whom she was blessed to meet in September 1979 at a Leonard Orr Rebirth training in Great Neck, New York. Marcia's wish is that Barbara's obvious wisdom, joy, skill and open-hearted love in sharing transformational experiences and Truths with everyone in her life will continue to inspire Marcia in every moment of her life, including moments of sharing the Transformational Breath with interested others.

Acknowledgements: Marcia acknowledges her husband Bob Bailey for his ongoing and loving support for her in every dimension of her life. Yes! She is especially grateful for the many gifts he has shared in support of her continuing passion for sharing Transformational Breath with interested others, including his enthusiastic and effective use of Transformational Breath in his own life, and his direct support and participation at many, many of our Transformational Breath workshops/trainings. Also his patience, skill and generosity of time and Spirit in keeping our family computers up to date and running smoothly have made possible easy communication of our Breathe Ann Arbor offerings via email and now this website. -- "Yes, thank you thank you thank you Bob, for your loving Presence in my life!" Marcia also acknowledges her sister, Joyce Fisher Pierce, Minister of Unity Christ Church of Richmond, Virginia, who has shared wonderfully in this life journey as a loving sister and is a special support to Marcia since their 1975-76 individual and collective awakening to Truth principles. "Thank you, Joyce, for cheering Julie and me onward in our shared Transformational Breath offerings. Yes!" Also deeply relevant to "Breathe Ann Arbor", Marcia acknowledges her Transformational Breath partner since 2001, Julie Wolcott, for the powerful healing Presence Julie has brought and continues to bring to Marcia's life since first meeting Julie in May 1998 through shared Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy work/play. Marcia is especially grateful for and inspired by the strong compassion and healing open-heartedness that Julie offers ongoingly to her clients, friends and family. Marcia is truly and deeply blessed by this continuing friendship, business partnership and shared spiritual journey with Julie.

Julie dedicates her service with Transformational Breathwork to those pursuing the inner journey, and she dedicates the birth of this Breathe Ann Arbor website to the loving memory of her beloved mother and friend, Mimi Shilling (1906-2005), who introduced her to the healing benefits of the circular, connected breath in the early nineties. Julie's desire is that her mother's love of life, keen curiosity, love, and firm belief in the Oneness of the Universe will continue to inspire Julie in her continuing passion for the Transformational Breath.

Acknowledgements: Julie wishes to acknowledge her husband, Larry, who lovingly and thoughtfully supported and continues to support her work though the creation and maintenance of a professional session space and in the creative preparation of meals for Transformational Breath trainings. Julie wishes also to acknowledge her friend and Transformational Breathwork partner, Marcia Bailey, for her loving, healing presence, her superior computer and organizational skills, and her passionate commitment to our work together. Julie is also grateful for Marcia's compassionate and open heart and her willingness for clear and authentic connection with herself and those whom she serves. With admiration and respect, Julie feels blessed by the ongoing friendship and spiritual journey they share.
